KeepScribePrivacy Policy
In short: we don’t collect any personal data.
Recording, transcription, speaker labels, summaries and exports all happen on your iPhone. KeepScribe has no account and no server, and does no analytics, advertising or crash reporting. We can’t see or access your recordings or text.
1. Who we are
KeepScribe (“the App”) is developed and operated by [to fill: developer or company name] (“we”). Questions about this policy: support@keepscribe.com.
2. What we collect
We collect no personal data:
- no sign-up or login, and no accounts;
- no device identifiers, location, contacts or usage data;
- no third-party SDKs for analytics, advertising, crash reporting or push;
- the App sends no data to any server, and we have no server to receive it.
3. Where your data lives
Everything you create in the App — audio, transcripts, speaker names, markers and notes, summaries, mind maps, professional notes, your vocabulary list and settings — is stored only on your iPhone, in the App’s sandbox, which other apps can’t read. Audio files are encrypted by iOS Data Protection.
- iPhone backups: if you use iCloud Backup or back up your iPhone to a computer, this data is included along with your other apps’ data. Backups are handled by Apple; we can’t access them.
- Exports and sharing: files leave the App only when you tap Export, Share or Export All, through the iOS share sheet, to the app or location you choose.
- Widgets, Lock Screen and notifications: the Home Screen widget, the Live Activity and “transcription finished” notifications show recording titles. With the Face ID lock on, titles are hidden there.
4. When the internet is used
Recording, transcription and organizing don’t need the internet. Only these cases use it, all handled by iOS or Apple services:
- Speech model download: before the first transcription, iOS downloads the speech recognition model from Apple. Nothing is uploaded.
- On-device AI model download: on iPhones without Apple Intelligence that have enough memory, if you choose to download the on-device model (about 2.7 GB), it is downloaded from servers hosted by Apple. Nothing is uploaded.
- Purchases and restores: handled by the App Store. We only learn whether the Apple ID owns the purchase, not your name or payment details.
- Web links: links such as this policy open in the system browser.
5. Permissions

The App doesn’t request location, photos, contacts, camera or Bluetooth.
6. Third-party components
There are no data-collecting third-party SDKs. Open-source components (sherpa-onnx, ONNX Runtime, llama.cpp) and models (punctuation, speaker diarization, the Qwen on-device model) are bundled with or downloaded to your iPhone and run only on the device. Licenses and credits are in iPhone Settings → KeepScribe → 致谢.
7. Services provided by Apple
- Speech recognition and Apple Intelligence: on supported devices, transcription, Q&A and summaries use Apple’s on-device models, processed on your iPhone, subject to Apple’s Privacy Policy.
- Crash reports: the App doesn’t report crashes itself. If you turned on “Share With App Developers” in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, Apple may share anonymous crash reports with us, which contain no recording content. You can turn this off at any time.
8. Your choices
- View and export: in the App at any time, or via Settings → Export All;
- Delete: deleted recordings go to Recently Deleted and are removed after 30 days, or immediately from Settings → Recently Deleted. You can also delete just the audio and keep the text;
- Delete everything: delete the App and all recordings and text on the phone go with it. Copies in iPhone backups follow Apple’s backup rules.
Since we hold none of your data, you can access, correct or delete it directly in the App — there’s nothing to request from us.
9. Children
The App collects no personal data from anyone, including children.
10. Recording other people
Recording other people may involve their personal information. Follow the laws where you are and tell people or get their consent when required.
11. Changes
We’ll update the date above when this policy changes. If a change ever involves collecting personal data (we have no such plans), we’ll tell you in the App and ask for your consent first.
