Terms of Use
KeepScribe (“the App”) is provided by [to fill: developer or company name] (“we”). By downloading or using the App you agree to these terms and to Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement. Where they differ, these terms apply.
1. License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App on Apple devices you own or control. Don’t reverse engineer the App, bypass paid features, or use it unlawfully.
2. Free features and the one-time purchase
- Recording, offline transcription, editing, full-text search, copying text and exporting TXT and audio are free with no time limit.
- Speaker labels, Word / PDF / subtitle / spreadsheet export, Q&A, summaries, mind maps and professional notes are unlocked by a one-time App Store purchase. It doesn’t renew.
- Payment, receipts and refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s rules. On a new phone or after reinstalling, tap Restore Purchase in the App with the same Apple ID.
- Some AI features depend on your device (Apple Intelligence, or a model that can run the on-device AI). Check what the purchase screen says about your phone before buying.
3. Your content
Everything you record and create is yours and stays on your device. We can’t access it or recover it for you. Back up regularly with iCloud Backup or Settings → Export All. We can’t restore data lost because a device was lost, damaged or the App was deleted.
4. Record lawfully
Use the App in line with the laws where you are. Recording other people may involve their privacy and personal information; tell them or get their consent when required. Don’t use the App for eavesdropping or covert recording that violates others’ rights — you are responsible for how you use it.
5. Generated content
Transcripts, punctuation, speaker labels, term corrections, answers, summaries, mind maps and professional notes are produced automatically by algorithms and models on your device and may contain errors, omissions, wrong speakers or misunderstandings. They are aids for organizing and finding information:
- they are not legal, medical, psychological, HR or any other professional advice and don’t replace a professional’s judgment;
- before using them in formal documents, evidence, medical records or anything important, check each point against the original audio (every point links to the moment it was said).
6. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The App is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we don’t guarantee it will be error-free or uninterrupted on every device and in every situation, and we aren’t liable for indirect losses from using or being unable to use it. Mandatory legal rights are not affected.
7. Changes
These terms may change as the App changes; updates are posted on this page. Continuing to use the App after an update means you accept it.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan for this purpose), without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections where you live. Disputes should first be resolved by negotiation.
